Shipping Policy & Services

Sales Tax Policy

Effective August 19, 2019, Black River Imaging is required to collect sales tax on all orders shipped to a domestic US address. This policy is based on tax guidelines set by the South Dakota vs. Wayfair ruling. For your orders to be tax exempt:

  • Please attain a Tax Exemption/Resale Certificate from every state you ship to.
  • File your certificate(s) with us by logging into your Black River Imaging account under My Account > Login > Tax Exemption Certificates.
  • Upload your Tax Exemption/Resale Certificate (note: this certificate is not the same as your Seller's Permit/License). Repeat this step for each state you ship to.
  • Even if you filed exemption paperwork with us in the past, you are still required to upload your certificates with the new system. Please do so before August 19, 2019, to maintain your exempt status.
  • Orders shipped to a domestic US address will not be charged sales tax if a Tax Exemption/Resale Certificate has been uploaded for the destination state.
  • If there is no certificate on file for the destination state, the order will be charged the appropriate sales tax. Sales tax is determined by the destination's tax rate(s).
  • This sales tax policy applies to any customer (domestic or international) whose order ships to a domestic US address.
